Before going travelling you will need to obtain and pack your passport, ticket and travellers cheques, your driving licence, a certified copy of your birth certicate
and marriage certificate. Photocopy all of these several times and put one in the bottom of your back pack and leave a copy at home with folks, just in case.

You could even consider posting a copy of all your documents to yourself at a friends house in the country you are travelling too. Just on the off chance something should go wrong you may want to include a recent photo of yourself and anyone who will be travelling with.
